In Tarash, Sirajganj, the server for applying for land registration, sending reports and paying land development tax has been down for a month. As a result, hundreds of service seekers in the upazila have been suffering in getting all these land services. According to relevant sources, this situation has arisen because the Ministry of Land has closed the server in the name of development. Selim Ahmed Shahin, Land Assistant Officer at the Madhainagar Union Land Office of the upazila, said that the Ministry of Land’s server has been down since November 26. As a result, there has been a disruption in applying for land registration, sending reports and receiving land development tax. Dabir Uddin of Madhabpur village, who came to pay, said that land development tax filing is required for land registration. But since the server is down, I cannot receive it. As a result, it is not possible to sell land even if absolutely necessary. On the other hand, Ershad Ali, who came to Madhainagar Union Land Office to receive the service of registration, said that without registration of ownership in the original document, property cannot be bought and sold. Even though I took the pledge to sell the land a month ago for my daughter’s wedding, I am unable to sell the land without receiving the registration due to server complications.
In this context, Upazila Executive Officer Switching Mong Marma, who is in charge of the Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land), said, “The matter is under the control of the Land Ministry. However, we hope that the server complications will be resolved soon and the land service will be launched, ending the suffering of those seeking the service.”
