Madan Karmakar (30) committed suicide by hanging himself in Shahjadpur, Sirajganj. Upon hearing this news, his girlfriend Sudipta Das Keka (26) committed suicide by consuming gas tablets. Both of them are residents of the same upazila. The incident has created a huge sensation in the area.
Sudipta Das Keka died at around 3:30 pm on Tuesday (December 24) in Sahapara Mohalla of Shahjadpur Municipality. Earlier, late on Monday night, her boyfriend Madan Karmakar committed suicide by hanging himself in Bogra. He is the son of Bikash Karmakar of Garadah area of Shahjadpur Upazila. It is learnt that he used to work in a pharmaceutical company in Bogra.
On the other hand, Sudipta Das Keka is the daughter of Atal Krishna Das of Sahapara Mohalla of Shahjadpur Municipality. She was a first-year honors student and musician at Shahjadpur Government College.
