Sirajganj: Police have recovered the body of a young man named Monirul Islam (20) with his hands and feet tied from Dabirganj village of Ramakrishnapur Union in Salanga, Sirajganj.
The body was recovered from his uncle’s house by the Salanga police on Monday. Monirul is the younger son of Fuljar Hossain of Boalia village in neighboring Tarash upazila.
According to family sources, Monirul lived in his maternal grandfather’s house in Dabirganj village since childhood.
In this regard, Monirul’s younger aunt Shilpi Khatun said, “In the morning, when I went to my elder brother (brother-in-law) Monnaf’s house, I saw Monirul’s body hanging in the kitchen. Then, on hearing my screams, the locals came forward and found Monirul hanging.”
In this regard, Solanga Police Station Investigation Officer Monojit Kumar Nandi said that Monirul’s body was hanging from a noose in the kitchen of Uncle Monnaf’s house. His hands and feet were tied and his throat was strangled. A mobile phone was tied to the wall of the house next to it.
He said, “Initially, it is believed that he was strangled to death and then hung. However, the body is being sent to the morgue and a detailed investigation is being conducted. The exact cause of his death will be known once the autopsy report is received.”
